A recognised four-year B.E. / B.Tech or B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (ABET‑accredited) is preferred. Degrees in closely related engineering fields may be accepted, though applicants may need to complete prerequisite coursework. Minimum 3.0/4.0 cumulative undergraduate GPA is required. Stronger candidates, especially those in the 4+1 programme, often have ≥ 3.3/4.0 in their junior/senior year credits.
