Academic Requirements
Admission to Georgia Institute Of Technology is selective and competitive and is based on a holistic review of application materials. Bachelor’s degree (4‑year) in any discipline, equivalent to a U.S. bachelor’s. Subject prerequisites (at least one foundational course): 1) Calculus 2) Probability/Statistics 3) Basic Linear Algebra 4) Programming (Python preferred, or C/C++, Java, etc.) GPA Requirement: A minimum GPA of 3.0/4.0 is typically required. For Indian students, this usually translates to a CGPA of 7.5 to 8.0+ out of 10, or 75% and above. Applicants with higher GPAs (above 8.0 or 80%) will be more competitive for admission. Typical academic backgrounds of admitted students: ~40% from Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics ~24% from Business or Economics The rest include students from Sciences, Social Sciences, and even Medicine Work experience: While not mandatory, about 50% of admitted students have prior professional experience, averaging 2 years. This can strengthen an application, especially for those from non-technical or diverse academic backgrounds.
