GPA: Competitive applicants usually have strong GPAs (e.g., 3.5+/4.0). Exceptional undergrads (e.g., 4.8/5.0 at MIT) may be invited early.
Core coursework: Undergrad exposure in solid mechanics, dynamics, fluid mechanics, thermodynamics, heat transfer, materials, control, design, manufacturing + basic circuits and electromagnetics.
