Requires a relevant 4‑year bachelor’s degree (Mechanical Engineering or closely related engineering discipline).
Minimum GPA: 3.3/4.0, typically expected in both overall and engineering coursework.
Subject Prerequisites :Strong foundation in core mechanical engineering subjects: Statics, Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Materials Science.
Must have completed Calculus I–III, Differential Equations, and at least one 4000‑ or 6000‑level math course (e.g. Advanced Engineering Mathematics)
Coursework in Linear Algebra, Programming (MATLAB/Python/C/C++), and Control Systems or Design is advantageous.
Prior experience or coursework in mechanical design or CAD may strengthen the application.
Research experience (e.g. undergraduate project/internship) is highly valued for M.S. applicants.
Applicants should identify a potential adviser and clearly explain research interest areas in the Statement of Background and Goals.
