Degree background: Applicants from business, commerce, accounting or relevant quantitative fields are preferred. Degrees with heavy software development or management accounting may not be accepted. A Second Class Honours Grade II (NFQ Level 8), typically equivalent to 60–65% or a 6.0–6.5 GPA on a 10‑point scale. Candidates below this threshold may apply under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) if they have substantial work or professional experience.
Subject prerequisites: Your bachelor’s should ideally include at least one quantitative module, such as mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, engineering, or computer science. Accounting or finance coursework during undergrad is advantageous but not strictly mandatory.
Students with humanities or non‑quantitative backgrounds can still apply, provided they show aptitude for analytic coursework.
If quantitative exposure is lacking, UCC may request additional bridging or may conditionally admit via RPL.
