A minimum of upper second-class honours (2.1 equivalent) in an honours undergraduate degree (NFQ Level 8) in engineering, biosystems, food engineering, or closely related mathematical/technical science discipline. For Indian equivalence: typically 60–65% (2.1) or ~3.3–3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Exceptional students with slightly lower percentages may be considered if they have strong technical backgrounds or relevant experience.
