A minimum Second Class Honours (2H2) degree (Level 8 – NFQ) or equivalent is required, typically meaning ~60–65% in India, or a CGPA of ~2.7–3.3 on a 4‑point scale.
Degrees should be in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, Pharmaceutical Science, Biochemistry, or related science/technology fields. Applicants with strong industrial experience or relevant postgraduate diplomas may also be considered under Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL), subject to departmental approval. Some candidates from unrelated backgrounds may be asked to complete bridging courses prior to enrolment.
