A minimum of Upper Second Class Honours (2.1) or equivalent is normally required. That corresponds roughly to 65–70% or CGPA around 6.5–7.0/10 in Indian universities. Applicants must come from Physics, Engineering (e.g. aerospace, electrical, mechanical), Mathematics, or closely related disciplines. In exceptional cases, applicants with strong physics/engineering grounding and a 2.2 (Second Class Honours, lower division) may be accepted.
Subject Prerequisites: • Strong analytical coursework in undergraduate studies.
• Background should include core subjects such as: quantum mechanics, signals & systems, electronics, orbital mechanics/astrophysics, and programming or data analysis (e.g. Python, MATLAB). Coursework or lab experience in experimental physics or instrumentation is a plus.
