To be eligible for the Master of Science in Computer Science (MSCS) at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign (UIUC), applicants should possess a bachelor's degree in computer science or a closely related field. If the degree is in another discipline, the applicant must have completed coursework or have equivalent experience in object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms, linear algebra, and probability/statistics. A minimum GPA of 3.0 out of 4.0 in the last two years of undergraduate study is required, though a GPA of 3.2 or higher is recommended for the Professional Master's program. GRE scores are not required for any of the graduate programs in the Siebel School of Computing and Data Science, but they may be submitted if the applicant feels they strengthen the application
