Applicants should hold a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent engineering discipline. Degrees in Architecture or Construction Management are also acceptable if supplemented by core math and physics coursework: Must have college-level mathematics (e.g. multivariable calculus, differential equations, probability/statistics) and physics (mechanics, electricity & magnetism) with at least a B average (≈ 3.0 GPA in those courses) before application can be evaluated.
For applicants from other engineering or non-engineering fields, the university may require you to take civil engineering prerequisite undergraduate courses (e.g. CEE 312 Structural Engineering; CEE 351 Materials; CEE 345 Geotechnical; CEE 331 Construction Management) without graduate credit, typically needing a minimum B grade (≈ GPA 3.0).
The overall undergraduate GPA threshold generally expected is at least ~3.2 out of 4.0, though exceptions may be made for strong applications.
