Bachelor’s background: Ideally a B.S. in Civil Engineering (ABET-accredited). Or B.S. in another engineering discipline or hard science with at least 3 years of relevant industry experience. Applicants from other fields (e.g. business, economics, physics, architecture, liberal arts) with strong academic performance or work experience may also be considered; additional prerequisite coursework may be required. Minimum competitive GPA is 3.25 out of 4.0; GPA ≥ 3.5 out of 4.0 is strongly preferred. Subject prerequisites: Students without direct engineering background may be required to complete foundational engineering/pre‑req coursework before or during the program (e.g. calculus, differential equations, statistics, one engineering design/probability).
