Bachelor’s degree: Required in civil engineering or a related STEM/engineering field (equivalent to a U.S. accredited degree). GPA requirement: Minimum 3.0 out of 4.0 (last 60 semester/90 quarter credits). Competitive applicants typically have higher GPAs. Subject prerequisites by specialization: Environmental Engineering: 1 year of calculus-based physics, 2 terms chemistry, 1 term fluid mechanics, and 1 term mass/energy balances. Geotechnical/Structural/Transportation/Hydrology: similar STEM backgrounds; additional coursework like statics, foundation design, reinforced concrete, hydraulics may be needed.
